Hello,
I am this gal who goes to University in Memphis Tennessee. I take this survey of Brit Lit cl. Kinda dig the cl at times, other times I do not. We have all been there, done that, eh? I like William Blake very much. I grew up listening to this record, for my mommy was a hippy, called "The Poems of William Blake as Tuned by Allan Ginsburg" or something like that. I am but a lowly sophmore at this University I go to in Memphis, Tennessee...but I have read a great deal over my years. I like Lacan and Kristeva and Butler and Jung very much. I need term paper istance of a different sort from all who would see as fit as to offering me guidance of an ethical nature. I would like to write a good old fashioned term paper on William Blake. I would like to write of Blake's concept of the dual states of man and the correlations of which that could very well be found in the imagery and metaphor of his work for I feel as though that would be neat-o. Is this silly? Is this foolish? I would be only writing upon that which was igned in cl but adding the Marriage of Heaven and Hell because I bloody well feel like it. I like the Jung more so than the Frye and if loving Jung is wrong then I do not want to be right, man. Any thoughts on this? I have but a few. I asked the librarian at my school of Elvis...I mean University in Memphis about this and he thought I was a master's student! I see nothing wrong with liking Lacan and whatnot. Well, at any rate, maybe someone could feel me out on this. I would love to read of Kathleen Raine also and use a bit of her in the report. I hope my professor allows me to do this, I find out on Thrusday if she does. If she does not, I will quote Blake to her; "Degrade first the arts if you'd mankind degrade, Hire idiots to paint with cold light and dark shade" It is my hope I do not have to speak like that to my professor, I doubt I will have to because she is a very kind lady. But that would be a good retort, none the less
