If memory is vested in imaginatino, then how is it possible to have unconscious memories? The mental conception resides in the unconscious and is indivisible. Only the "verbal formula" (?) that accompanies it rises into consciousness whereupon a facsimile of it is created in imagination, and this is what constitutes our memory of it. Plotinus seems to be saying that intellection proceeds continuously in this unconscious domain of mental conceptions, and becomes qualified as "human perception" when there is awareness of the memory residing in the conscious imagination. Awareness is discontinuous since it must switch between conscious memories and sense-perceptions, but intellection (= intuition?) is continuous at the unconscious level.
Have I understood this correctly?
