I was looking on a leadership quotes web site and came across the following quote that I would like to use in a book I'm writing. Here it is:
The first method for estimating the intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him.
--Niccolo Machiavelli
I'm wondering if you know the source of this quotation. I've learned that Machiavelli's most famous work is The Prince, but did a keyword search on the quote and nothing came up. Someone told me that it might be from The Discourses. Can you please help me with this. Any info would help. Thanks so much.
