He was the first person to write History -- all the previous writers wrote stories, but nobody really wrote to preserve events as they happened and for future generations. However, he did a lot of work to "make things sound good" -- taking the events which had happened, coming to conclusions about them, and then presenting only evidence which supported his conclusions.
