(ii) What do you guys know about the Glauert integral of subsonic aerodynamics,really discovered by Godfrey Harold Hardy? I think I was the first to discover the sine counterpart of this integral (ubiquiesce in aerodynamics) and often wondered why Hardy didn't publish
it. The original Glauert integral is between 0
and pi, the integrand is Cos(n times theta) /
[cos(theta) - cos(phi)]. The closed form answer for integer n is Pi times sin(n times phi)/sin(phi). The sine form is more complicated and involves a logarithmic function and a finite sum.
I was granted first claim to the result by Dr. Fuhs then editor of the JOurnal of Aircraft based upon a letterpf correction I sent them.
