: i have to figure out how midevil ideas about treams ties into the nun.s priests's tale and i cant find anything about what people thought about dreams in midevial times, does anyone have any info?

There is a ton of information on dreams, especially since medieval people considered dreams to be worth writing about and sharing. The basis of belief in dreams as a source of knowledge comes from the Bible tales of Daniel, Joseph, and Jacob. Each man is gifted with dreams that have direct influence on the world around them. Some additional sources you might try for medieval beliefs and interest in dreams include the website colfa.utsa.edu/chaucer/ If you seek under Chaucer and dreams, it gives a tremendous amount of information on articles that have been published about the topic. You might find what you're looking for there. Also, other medieval writers of the time were writing about dreams. I'm not sure what information is available, but the names I've found are Holcot and Gerald of Wales. The source (www.cyberg8t.com/somerset/chaucer.html) suggests that Chaucer may have decided that since the popularity of dream speculation increased, he deliberately embellished the dream sequence in the Nun's Priest's Tale.
That's all, hope it helps.
