Jesus says in Matthew 12:31 "I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven."

This statement by Christ begs explaination. My understanding is that "blasphemy against the Spirit" means attributing the work of the Spirit to Satan. In other words, a willfull rejection of Christ, God, and the Spirit.

Suicide is the other common "unforgivalbe sin." Obvious, one can not ask for forgiveness once dead.
